Town Council Approves New Carbon Monoxide Ordinance
The Snowmass Village Town Council has approved a new carbon monoxide (CO) ordinance aimed at protecting our residents and guests from this deadly gas. Beginning April 1 of this year, CO detectors must be installed in all dwellings, on every level of the residence and in the immediate vicinity to, and be audible in, all sleeping areas containing a fuel burning appliance. Home owners have 6 months to comply. So, in short, if your home does not have a CO detector, you’ll need to get and install one before September 1st of 2009.
