 The Solid Waste and Recycling Division is responsible for the collection and disposal of garbage and recycling throughout the Village. They are committed to providing efficient, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly service to both residential and commercial customers.

Residential Trash Service

Curbside Service
The Town offers optional curbside service in the Horse Ranch, The Crossings, Rodeo Place, and Country Club subdivisions. Scheduled pickup for curbside customers in these locations is every Wednesday at 7:00 a.m. 

Dumpster Service
All other residential customers have access to dumpster sheds located throughout the Village. Please contact the Solid Waste and Recycling Division at 970-923-5110 or by email for more information on rates specific to your area, and to setup your account.

NOTICES:
In 2017, the Pitkin County Landfill will be increasing their rates, and Snowmass Village residents should expect to see a 5% increase in their annual dumpster service bill. This will equate to approximately an additional $25 annually. 

Yard Waste:
Due to the influx of of branches from the recent snowstorm, the solid waste division is providing pick up service to Snowmass Village residents.

For $31 / cubic yard, the Town will pick up bundles of branches at your property. Please bundle the branches in 4' x 2' x 2' bundles, tied with rope or twine. Place your bundles near the roadway, but do not block driveways, drainage, the road, trails, walkways, etc.

Please do not dispose of branches in the community dumpsters.

Curbside Customers:
For customers that currently pay for curbside service, solid waste will pick up a maximum of two (2) 4' x 2' x 2' bundles per week in addition to normal trash and recycling. Anything in excess of this amount can be scheduled for pick up at a rate of $31 / cubic yard.

Fall Leaves
Residential leaves can be composted at the rodeo lot in the leaf composting bin.

Commercial Service
Non-residential customers can arrange for regular pickup by contacting the Solid Waste and Recycling Division at 970-923-5110.

Wildlife Safety

The Town’s Wildlife Ordinance requires that trash containers are not left out overnight, and that dumpster sights are properly closed and secured to mitigate wildlife’s access to trash. Visit our Animal Services page for details on wildlife resistant containers and safe disposal guidelines.

Pitkin County Landfill Credit
All residents of Pitkin County receive an annual $100 credit to the landfill. This can be used for electronics, composting, yard waste, construction debris, hazardous materials, and more.
