We-Cycle is now connecting Club Commons to RFTA at Town Park!
Road bikes, mountain bikes and now WE-cycles join the mix in Snowmass Village. WE-cycle’s new point to point Snowmass Village system made its debut on June 15 with the goal of providing an enhanced connection between the Club Commons residential neighborhood and the Rodeo Lot | Town Park RFTA bus stop designed to facilitate the use of multi-modal and public transportation.
The small bikeshare system is comprised of 15 shared bicycles and two stations, one at the Club Commons and one at the Rodeo Lot | Town Park station and provides a faster first/last mile commute to local bus services. Rides are free for up to 30 minutes and $0.50 per minute for each additional minute, a pricing structure intended to discourage recreational use of the bikes.
Signing up for a FREE Ride Pass is easy and takes just a few minutes. One can download the app Transit and then have access to the WE-cycles in Snowmass and to those at 44 more stations in both Aspen and Basalt.
For the up to 300 residents living at the Club Commons, approximately 40% of whom don’t have cars, the new option to ride a WE-cycle is a tremendous show of support from the local community and a demonstration of the Snowmass investment in active and sustainable transportation options.
The Snowmass Village WE-cycle system has been the long-term vision of public and private sectors led by the Snowmass Town Council and came to fruition thanks to the financial support of Founding Partners: Town of Snowmass Village and RFTA, Operating Partners: the Elected Officials Transportation Commission (EOTC), Aspen Skiing Company, and Aspen Valley Hospital, and Basket Sponsor: Limelight Hotels.
WE-cycle encourages Snowmass Village residents to sign up and become familiar with the flexibility, and independence of bikeshare by taking a short ride from Town Park to Club Commons or go car free in Aspen and Basalt by hopping on a WE-cycle to do errands and get around town.
Please join WE-cycle in complying with public health guidelines by wearing a face covering and cleaning hands and high-touch surfaces when riding. Visit we-cycle.org for more information and learn how you can join the movement and be riding socially-distant bikeshare.
