The Distinguished Budget Presentation Award has again been awarded to the Town of Snowmass Village by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its budget. The Award is a significant achievement for the Town and represents the Town’s commitment to effective budgeting.
“I am proud of the continued efforts of the Town – including Town Council and Town staff to earn this award. The Distinguished Budget Presentation Award is an important record of the Town’s dedication to transparency in its budget and financial management. To achieve this level of distinction for over twenty years is a great achievement,” said Marianne Rakowski, Finance Director.
To receive the budget award, the Town had to satisfy nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation. Budget documents must be rated "proficient" in all four categories, which each include fourteen mandatory criteria, to receive the award.
The GFOA is a non-profit professional association with offices in Chicago, IL, and Washington, D.C. serving approximately 19,000 government finance professionals. There are over 1,700 participants in the Budget Awards Program. The most recent Budget Award recipients along with their corresponding budget documents, are posted quarterly on GFOA's website.
