Snowmass Village, Colo.--February 14, 2014--Today, Director of Snowmass Tourism Yan Baczkowski announced his resignation.
Baczkowski joined the Town in July, 2013. As Director of Snowmass Tourism, he managed both Marketing and Group Sales Divisions, and worked with partners both locally and internationally to expand the amenities, programs, events, and attractions to draw visitors to Snowmass Village.
"I have truly enjoyed my time representing this great destination these past few months and being a part of the change that this resort so desperately needed to remain competitive in the future. This was a most difficult yet personal decision I made with my future and family in mind," Baczkowski said. "I am fully confident that the future of our world-class destination is very bright and the growth in tourism and visitation that we have seen these past two seasons and the incredible line-up in store for next summer will continue for years to come. I am very proud of the key accomplishments that took place during my time with the organization and helped the destination realize significant growth in tax collections, occupancy, and notoriety especially on international markets."
Fred Brodsky, Director of Group Sales has been appointed Interim Tourism Director during this period of transition.
"The Town respects Yan's decision and appreciates all of his experience while on the job, and the accomplishments he has brought to the Town," said Gary Suiter, Snowmass Village Interim Town Manager. "We wish him much success and best wishes in his future endeavors."
The Town will announce plans to initiate a search for a permanent replacement for the position of Snowmass Tourism Director in the coming weeks.
