Snowmass Village, Colo.—February 25, 2014—The Town of Snowmass Village’s new online Public Records Portal is now available on www.tosv.com adding to the growing list of online tools to promote government transparency. The portal, powered by Laserfiche, provides a platform where members of the community can access and search a complete repository of public documents dating back to 1977 from any computer or mobile device.
Available documents include Council agendas, minutes, packets, ordinances, and resolutions. The portal is designed to be easily navigable and user-friendly, and offers searches by document category, year, or search term.
“With the town website and the Public Records Portal in place, we now have a strong technical backbone that supports greater transparency and efficiency in town governance,” said Rhonda Coxon, Town Clerk. “As local governments transition into the twenty-first century, open access to organized information both internally and externally has become an expectation.”
The Public Records Portal also provides a cost-effective way to help the town eliminate unnecessary compliance risks, aiding the Clerk’s office in the enforcement of consistent records policies and automate life cycle record management. In addition it saves staff time and resources previously dedicated to fulfilling records requests and performing research.
“We are thrilled that after years of development, we can provide a cost-effective solution for making information available to our citizens,” Coxon said. “It’s a small investment that will pay off many times over for our taxpayers.”
The Public Records Portal is available on www.tosv.com , under the government menu.
In addition, the public is encouraged to visit www.tosv.com/transparency to learn more about the suite of online tools and resources available for convenient access to public information.
