The last big push for public input into an Upper Roaring Fork Valley Trails Plan will take place Friday, April 11 from noon to 3 p.m. at Snowmass Town Hall. Attendees are encouraged to arrive at noon for the presentation, before discussion begins.
Maps will be available to help participants sketch out their trail visions. Anyone who cannot attend is welcome to provide their input via the form below.
Progressive Trail Design and the International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) are working on the Trails Plan in collaboration with Pitkin County Open Space and Trails, the City of Aspen, Town of Snowmass Village, U.S. Forest Service, BLM and Aspen Skiing Co.
Mountain bikers, hikers and others provided their "wish list" of future trail projects at a Jan. 30 open house in Aspen. Members of the Roaring Fork Valley Horse Council offered their suggestions during a Dec. 5, 2013 meeting.
A draft plan is expected to be ready for review by mid-2014.
This effort is being funded by a matching grant from the Walton Family Foundation.
