Snowmass Village, Colo.--April 21, 2014--Today, the Snowmass Village Transportation Department launched a new website to provide a go-to resource for anyone traveling around Snowmass Village. By providing easily accessible and navigable content, the site aims to ease travel, improve Village Shuttle ridership and rider satisfaction, and enhance accessibility.

“We are always looking for new ways to make the Village Shuttle and other transportation services easier and more convenient, especially for people who are new to town or visiting for the first time,” said David Peckler, director of transportation for the Town of Snowmass Village. “We’re always looking for new ways to improve access to schedules, rider resources, and information about parking. This site is a huge step in the right direction.”

Snowmasstransit.com also allows the department to be more responsive. Service levels change seasonally and sometimes even-day-to-day depending on special events. Users can stay up to speed on these changes easily by signing up to receive notifications on schedule changes or other news and announcements by email or text message.

Other site features include:

  • A translation function for non-English speakers
  • Easily navigable Village Shuttle routes and schedules by destination or origin
  • A subscription-based news feed and job listing repository
  • An online request tracker where citizens can log comments, compliments, or concerns and track how these are being addressed

Each Village Shuttle stop sign will include a URL listing and QR code directing riders to pertinent information to that specific location or route.

The town is soliciting public feedback on the site's ease of use and content over the next few weeks. Visit snowmasstransit.com and click on "Report a Concern" to register your comment.
