April 22, 2014—Snowmass Village, Colo.—At approximately 2:15 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21, a company contracted by the Town of Snowmass Village to perform repairs to the driveway entrance aprons to the Parcel C garage building located on Daly Ln. cut a natural gas pipe causing a leak.

Emergency units responded and immediately closed a section of Carriage Way (above Lot 6 and below Lot 5), and evacuated the Parcel C building and neighboring commercial properties on the West End Village Mall.

The Snowmass Village Police Department and The Snowmass Wildcat Fire Protection District stayed on scene while Source Gas worked to locate the gas supply line with the help of the Snowmass Village Public Works Department.

The gas line was successfully shut off at approximately 7:00 p.m. this evening.

There will be a temporary disruption of gas service as Source Gas works to repair the gas line. This will impact a limited number of businesses in the West End Village Mall, who are being notified directly.

Currently, no road closures are anticipated.
