May 27, 2014—Snowmass Village, Colo.—The second of three pre-sketch plan meetings between the Snowmass Village Town Council, Planning Commission, and Snowmass Acquisition Company, LLC (SAC) to discuss the future of the Base Village development is Thursday, May 29, 2014 from 4-6 p.m. at the Snowmass Village Town Hall Council Chambers. Members of the community are encouraged to attend to participate in round table discussions and a report-out session.

“This meeting format encourages attendees to think creatively, holistically, and constructively about topics that will help move this development forward,” said Julie Ann Woods, Community Development Director for the Town of Snowmass Village.

The meeting is specifically designed to engage community stakeholders in a constructive discussion on several key topics identified during the first pre-sketch meeting held on May 20th.

After a brief introduction from meeting facilitator Tom Newland, attendees will join members of Town Council, Planning Commission, Town staff, and representatives from SAC at four round tables. Each table will discuss a specific topic related to the development for approximately ten minutes. After rotating through all four tables, key discussion points will be shared with the group in an hour-long reporting session. Due to the limited amount of time for each topic, participants are encouraged to share “bullet points” or snippets of what is most important for a successful Base Village to proceed.

Discussion topics include:

  • Residential/commercial mix revisions
  • Project phasing/vesting
  • Transportation
  • Community purposes /Aquatic Center

In addition to these topics, participants will have the opportunity—both in person and virtually— to weigh in on other aspects of the development.

For those who cannot make the meetings in person but wish to actively participate in the discussion and make their voice heard, there are several ways to provide input online:

  • Follow the meetings live on www.tosv.com/watchlive (please note that during the round table discussion period coverage for remote viewers will be paused. During this time we will be hosting virtual round tables on the same four topics listed above at www.tosv.com/communityvoice)
  • Weigh in on our online discussion using “Community Voice” at www.tosv.com/communityvoice
  • Participate in the conversation on Twitter using #BaseVillage2.0
