[ARCHIVED] A Smarter Village Shuttle Offers New Tools for Passengers

Snowmass Village, Colo.—July 14, 2014—Today the Town of Snowmass Village’s Transportation Department unveiled a new Smart Village Shuttle program. New signage at all 35 stops in Snowmass Village provides user-friendly directions to access site-specific routes and schedules.

Passengers can now use their smart phones to scan printed QR codes for a seasonally appropriate schedule specific to their location. And, with just one click, you can now place your call for on-demand service routes, or view timely news announcements that could impact your trip.

For non-English speakers, a prominently displayed translation tool allows users to translate schedules into dozens of languages, making the tool perfectly tailored to a resort economy.

The Smart Village Shuttle program is enabled by the recently launched snowmasstransit.com website. The site provides a go-to resource for anyone traveling around Snowmass Village and aims to ease travel, improve Village Shuttle ridership and customer satisfaction, and enhance accessibility.

“This is a great new offering to our Shuttle passengers to help with getting around town via our free and now smart shuttle service. It has never been easier,” said David Peckler, Transportation Director for the Town of Snowmass Village. “The launch during our busy summer events season will help us improve the program. We’ll continue to fine tune it to perfect the site for the winter season, so we encourage the community to try it out and tell us what you think.”
