September 5, 2014—Snowmass Village, CO—Today, the Town of Snowmass Village announced the appointment of Rose Abello as Director of Snowmass Tourism. In this role she will oversee all marketing, group sales, special events, public relations and guest services efforts and will be responsible for promoting Snowmass Village as a world-class, year-round resort destination. She will start on September 29th.
Named one of the Most Powerful Women in Travel by Travel Agent Magazine, Abello brings a strong and diverse background in travel and hospitality marketing.
Formerly the Director of Communications for the Aspen Skiing Company from 1997 to 2001, she was responsible for the company’s worldwide public relations efforts for all four mountains, and multiple properties and retail outlets.

I am super excited to work with the team at the Town of Snowmass Village to create an even greater positive impact from tourism in the community," Abello said. "It will be great to be back in the Roaring Fork Valley full time and re-connect with friends as well as former colleagues. Most recently Abello ran her own marketing/strategy consulting firm where she developed strategic marketing initiatives, partnerships, special events, social media strategies, communications, and more for cruise and travel companies such as Seabourn Cruises Holland America Line, Global Voyages Group and others.
From 2001-2009 Abello served as the Vice President of Public Relations for Holland America Line, Inc., overseeing the strategic development and implementation of global public relations, special events, corporate social responsibility and social media efforts for the $1.8 billion company.

Abello holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Michigan, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Wellesley College. She enjoys the outdoors and is an avid skier, snowboarder, hiker and biker.
