On Wednesday, October 29th from 4-6 p.m., the Town of Snowmass Village will host a roundabout open house at Town Hall Council Chambers. Town staff and representatives from the design team including SGM, Sopris Engineering, and Snowmass Acquisition Co. will be available to answer questions on the proposed design as it nears completion.
The roundabout, planned at the intersection of Brush Creek Rd. and Wood Rd., was originally part of the Base Village approval in 2004. Now, the project has been defined as a public improvement milestone which needs to be completed as the development moves forward.
The current design is a product of work with Town partners and area stakeholders, and reflects the following town priorities:
- Public safety for pedestrians and motorists
- Ease of traffic movement and wayfinding
- Environmentally sensitive design
Necessary design elements include bus stops, medians, sidewalks, access to the Conoco gas station, and crosswalks.
“We’ve come a long way with the roundabout plans and have explored many different options, but ultimately we’re looking at the best design for the community and our values.” said Anne Martens, Director of Public Works. “This open house provides a great opportunity for anyone following this project to get a detailed look at the design, and have outstanding questions addressed before the project moves forward.”
The current roundabout design will be available for public review online prior to the open house. For those who wish to participate remotely, join our online discussion on Community Voice.
