New Concepts for Combined Mall Transit Station
On Monday night, the Town Council will be getting a first look at three conceptual designs for a combined transit station on the Snowmass Mall. The project, which has been identified as a necessary capital improvement since the 1980's, aims to improve the transit, pedestrian, and guest arrival experience at the Snowmass Mall while increasing pedestrian safety, providing better access to the Mall, and not reducing overall parking spaces.
Each of the concepts will include several features and amenities that will help accomplish these goals, including: improved transit station waiting areas, public restrooms, replacement parking, a driver’s break room, pedestrian walkways, and escalators and/or elevators. If you can't attend the Town Council meeting on Monday to see them for yourself, no problem. The Town is hosting a public open house on Wednesday, April 10th from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. in Town Hall to present the concepts to the public and gather feedback.
