Catch a Lift with the Transit App

The Official Mobility app of the Village Shuttle

The Town of Snowmass Village has announced Transit as the official mobility app for Snowmass Village, which will now carry all Village Shuttle route information and schedules for their app users. Transit counts millions of active users in more than 200 cities worldwide, and it is now available for Village Shuttle riders to use on their phones and devices.

Upon downloading and launching the free app, Village Shuttle riders will see nearby options and departure times in big text and bright colors. Users can easily navigate the region, aided by accurate bus ETAs, trip planning, step-by-step navigation, and crowd-sourced real-time information with Transit’s GO feature. The more users that use the app and opt into the “GO” feature, the more accurate the bus location will be for other app users.

The Village Shuttle’s partnership with Transit offers a comprehensive, easy-to-use and widely-adopted app for riders, which also already carries ridehail services like Uber and Lyft, route information, maps, and schedules for the neighboring Roaring Fork Transportation Authority (RFTA), and integrates with local We-Cycle stations.

Crosswalk with Beacon

Stop, Look, and Push the Button

Be Seen and Be Safe

The Town has completed the installation of 8 new rapid flashing beacons at pedestrian crosswalks along Brush Creek Road, just in time for the busy holiday and winter season. The Village is full, the days are shorter, it is dark at peak commuter times, roads are icy, and traffic is bustling. We want you to stay safe, and the Town is encouraging pedestrians to activate any available beacons before crossing the street.

The beacons are push button activated, which means they will not flash to warn drivers if pedestrians do not use them. The flashing beacons not only serve as a useful signal to nearby vehicles, but they also give advance warning to vehicles that might be approaching the crosswalk from far away. That advanced notice can be crucial, especially if the roads are icy and traffic has stopped at the crosswalk.

If you are crossing the street at one of these crosswalks, please use the beacons.
