Thank You! To the 155 Volunteers at the 41st Town Clean Up Day
The community's volunteer spirit was on full display for the 41st Annual Town Clean Up Day, and 155 volunteers participated - despite the wet weather. In total, approximately 220 bags of trash and recycling were collected from the numbered Village parking lots, roadways, trails, and other various locations around the Village, and our community is much cleaner after the day of hard work.
Thank you to the community members who rolled up their sleeves and volunteered to help keep Snowmass Village beautiful.
A special thank you to Alpine Bank, Snowmass Village Rotary Club, and Clark's Market who sponsored the event, provided lunch and prizes to volunteers.

First ImpressionsMaster Planning the Snowmass Village Entryway Last winter, the Snowmass Village Town Council adopted a new master plan for the Town Park entryway. The document was assembled after a years-long process of gathering community input, and it identifies the main priorities for the entryway area. In addition to serving it's current purpose as a park and ride, the master plan calls for enhancements to the wetlands, the Rodeo grounds, softball fields, the pond, playgrounds, trail access, and more.
This month, survey crews have been on site to begin laying out the area for improvements and some of the conceptual designs within the document are being finalized. Town staff will then revisit the proposed projects with Town Council to determine what improvements should be a priority this summer and for the initial phases of construction. Although it is the Town's largest park at just over 22 acres, Town staff have described the process as trying to fit "10 pounds into a 5 pound sack."
"We're excited to be making progress. Town Park is not only our community's front door, it is the cornerstone of recreation for all of our residents and guests," stated Andy Worline, Parks, Recreation, and Trails Director. "We couldn't be happier to be getting started."
Worline encourages community members to take a look at the plan themselves and provide feedback, if they haven't already. The master plan, although already adopted by Town Council, leaves a lot to the imagination and a lot of the designs will be finalized throughout the different proposed construction packages. "We still have a lot of homework to do," Worline added.

TOSV Local SpotlightPublic Works Employees Shaun LeeKing and Johnny Aragon were featured in the May 26 edition of the Snowmass Sun For two public works employees who spend most of their day on the roads of Snowmass Village, locals Shaun LeeKing and Johnny Aragon sure do appreciate the short commute that comes with living in town. Both of them consider it a perk to living in the town where they work — but there’s more to it than that.
“Snowmass, it’s great. The air quality, the convenience of the mountain, and the free shuttle serves to get around which is really nice,” Aragon said during a joint interview with Leeking near Two Creeks on May 21.
“I love the simple living, you know? Easy living so to speak, simple living,” LeeKing added. “And I like having my family right here with me in the town I work in, which is rare for most people.”
