Pitkin County Project Continues on Owl Creek Road Above Tom Blake Trailhead Beginning tonight, Tuesday, October 12th, at 7 p.m., Owl Creek Road near the Tom Blake Trailhead parking area, will close temporarily to both lanes of traffic. The road closure allows larger equipment to work on the roadway template and expedite the work. Flaggers will be positioned on Owl Creek Road near the Tom Blake Trail Head on the Snowmass Village side and near Buttermilk Ski Area on the Aspen side to aid in detouring traffic. Local traffic will be allowed through.
The retaining wall is being installed on an area known as Sinclair Divide, above the Snowmass Village Public Works Department. This wall is needed because of persistent subsidence along this section of roadway.
Detour Route:
Only emergency and local traffic will be permitted through the work area.
If you are planning on traveling between Aspen and Snowmass Village during this time, please plan on using Brush Creek Road.
