Snow Day 2016
Public Works Operator Scott Binegar works another long day removing snow

Thanks to our Winter Heroes

Thanks to our winter heroes here at the Town of Snowmass Village who kept things running smoothly during last week's epic snow storm.

According to the Town's unofficial plowing report, we received over 25" of snow over the course of 3 days. Most places shut down during that kind of a snow storm. Luckily, the Town of Snowmass Village isn't one of those places, and many workers stepped up to clear the walkways and roadways all of us depend on.

The Town of Snowmass Village’s road crews and police officers are among these workers, and they could have been spotted putting in the extra hours over the past week to keep people moving safely – but it wasn’t easy. You can read all about the Road Division's snow removal strategy and how the Police Department keeps things moving in our most recent Daly Peak blog posting.

The Sky is the Limit with the POSTR

The outdoors and recreational opportunities are just a couple of things that make Snowmass Village the great place it is to live, work, and play. However, the Town’s Parks, Open Space, Trails, and Recreation (POSTR) master plan hopes to take the community to the next level, and community members can help by attending a public workshop on Wednesday, February 17.

Andy Worline, Director of Parks, Recreation, and Trails, and project manager describes the project as making the Town more fun with more recreational opportunities. “We know people in Snowmass Village go big when it comes to the outdoors and recreation. We want to make sure we are meeting that demand.”

Join us for the public workshop next Wednesday, February 17th at the Snowmass Village Recreation Center. You can stop by at anytime between 3:00 and 7:00pm.

Please avoid the area and use Brush Creek Rd. and Highline Rd. as a detour.
