Community Spring CleaningTown Clean-Up Day Friday, May 20 For the 43rd year, the Town of Snowmass Village will once again host Town Clean-Up Day - Friday, May 20th. The event is sponsored by Alpine Bank and Snowmass Village, with volunteer support from the Snowmass Village Rotary Club.
Trash bags, recycling bags, and gloves will be available for pickup anytime between 8:30 - and 9:30 a.m. at the Daly Lane Depot. Participants will be thanked with lunch at Town Park beginning at noon.
If you or your company plan to participate, please register by following the link below. Registration is not necessary to participate but it does help with planning how much food is needed.

Adventures in Mountain ArtSponsored by Pitkin County Senior Services, Aspen Camp for the Deaf, and Aspen Art MuseumWith the inspiration of natural beauty along Snowmass Creek, the Camp setting will offer an opportunity to create a piece of art using natural materials, watercolor, and collage. This art-making activity will be led by Aspen Art Museum’s Ryan Prince. Lunch will be provided at the Camp.
After lunch, travel to the Aspen Art Museum for a guided tour of the newly opened Mountain / Time multi-media exhibit. Mountain / Time is a major video exhibition exploring ideas of re-mapping, migration, Black and Indigenous geographies, storytelling, and time. The exhibition is drawn from two of the most significant collections of time-based media — the Rosenkranz Foundation and the Whitney Museum of American Art.

Get Ready to RideWE-Cycle Bike Share Stations Return Next Week WE-cycle is back with bikeshare stations connecting Club Commons residential area to the RFTA bus stop at Town Park Station. With a simple download of the Free Transit App, you will have access to WE-cycles, making a fast connection between Club Commons and the RFTA Bus stop.
Starting the first week of May, WE-cycle will roll out a network of 250+ bikes and 49 stations with 490 docks in Aspen, Basalt, and Snowmass Village.
WE-cycle encourages Snowmass Village residents to sign up and become familiar with the flexibility, and independence of bikeshare by taking a short ride from Town Park to Club Commons or go car-free in Aspen and Basalt by hopping on a WE-cycle to do errands and get around town.
WE-cycle’s Unlimited 30-min Ride Passes are available for free at www.we-cycle.org and/or by downloading the app Transit. There is no cost to sign up or ride. A credit card authorization is required for overtime fees or incidentals. Overtime fees apply for each additional minute beyond 30 minutes: silver pedal bikes: $0.50/min | blue e-bikes $5.00/min.

Mountain View Employee Housing Renovations UnderwayTake a look to your right as you drive on upper Brush Creek and you will see work underway to update and upgrade the Mountain View Employee Housing development. Mountain View, originally built in 1990, has 92 rental units in nine multi-family buildings on Deerfield Drive and Hawk Ridge Lane. The original siding, windows, and doors will be replaced and insulation and ventilation will be added to make the buildings more energy efficient. The Town is adding some color and different siding textures to modernize the buildings. The first phase of the work will be done this summer and will wrap up in 2023.

Brush Creek Road Improvement ProjectThe Brush Creek Road Improvements Project is scheduled to begin May 4 and wrap up by the end of May. This project will include some curb and gutter repairs at the intersection of Hwy 82 and Brush Creek Road. The pavement improvements will include roto milling sections of the roadway with a final overlay of asphalt from Hwy 82 to the booth lanes at the entrance to Snowmass Village. The contractor awarded this project is Frontier Paving and this project is under the management of Pitkin County Road and Bridge. What to expect: There will be single-lane closures with traffic control managing traffic flow. There will not be any lane restrictions in the evenings or on weekends. Composting is available for Solid Waste CustomersComposting for Food WasteThe Town of Snowmass Village now provides customers with a location to compost residential food waste! Service began on January 1, 2022. Residents can drop compost at the Public Works campus (3745 Owl Creek Road) at no additional cost. The compost container and services will take the place of the electronic recycling dumpster. Bins for home composting are available at the Public Works office.

Spring Trail Conditions & ClosuresPay Heed When Hitting Trails in SpringThe weather is warming, but don't head for your favorite trail just yet. Many local trails are closed for wildlife protection, and many others are snowy, muddy, and not ready for traffic. Please respect wildlife closures and do not ride or hike on wet and muddy trails.
Spring Season Closures: - Rim Trail North, including the North Mesa Equestrian Trail: Closed December 1 - Opens May 16
- Sky Mountain Park trails: Closed December 1 - Opens May 16
- Seven Star Trail: Closed December 1 - Opens May 16
- Tom Blake: Closed April 25 - Opens June 21
- Government - Burnt Mountain: Closed May 15 - Opens June 28
- The south portion of the Rim Trail is open year-round.

Ruedi Reservoir Boat Ramp OpenRuedi Boating Season Begins Sunday, May 1 The Ruedi Reservoir boat ramp will open along with watercraft inspection and decontamination for aquatic nuisance species at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 1.
The inspections and decontaminations are required to protect the reservoir from the invasion of destructive species such as zebra and quagga mussels. Details
