Thursday, Feb. 23 - Tuesday, Feb. 28

Over 140 community members attended the visioning sessions on January 10th, but we're not done yet. The PLAN Snowmass Village team will be taking it to the next level February 23rd - February 28th with PLANAPALOOZA - 6 days of events and opportunities to get involved. Here's a rough outline of what you should expect and mark on your calendars:

Opening Sessions - "Speed Planning":
Join us for some "speed planning" as we kick off the week on Thursday, February 23rd at 5:30pm in the Snowmass Village Recreation Center. Roll-up your sleeves and let’s get down to details. Help us design three of the Village's nodes and give us in-depth input on issues that you have already brought up before.

Specialty Meetings - "Let's Get Technical":
Over the next two days, we will be hosting a series of focus groups dedicated to specific topics including; Services, facilities, & amenities; Built environment; Business, & economic growth; Transportation & parking; Housing; Art; and Environmental sustainability. Sit in on the meeting(s) that interest you the most or attend them all.

Pin Up & Public Review - "Après-Ski Thaw Out":
Once you get off the slopes on Sunday afternoon, February 26th, join us at our place for an après-ski pin up and public review. Stop by Town Hall anytime between 4pm - 5:30pm.

Open Studio Times:
Over the weekend and into the following week, we invite you to stop by Town Hall any time to see the work in progress and talk with the team. Open daily 9:00am - 9:00pm.

Closing Presentation - "Getting to the Finish":
Join us for the finale. Closing presentation will be at 5:30pm on Tuesday, February 28th at the Snowmass Village Recreation Center. Watch as we wrap up all of your feedback into quick overviews of what the future of Snowmass Village has in store.

The DAV Winter Sports Clinic Returns March 26th

It’s almost that time of year again. In just a couple of short months, Snowmass Village will once again be the gracious host to the National Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic. This event has been hosted in Snowmass Village annually for 17 years straight, and it wouldn’t be possible without the support of our local community. Not only do our merchants, lodges, and restaurants show these veterans to a world-class experience, but together, we raised nearly $20,000 last year to support lodging and airfare for individual veterans - estimated at $1,600 per individual. Now, we hope to support even more veterans, and we need your help.

GIS & Mapping Portal Now Available

View building records and make custom maps online.

Snowmass Village maps have always consisted of fun opportunities (e.g. open space, trails, ski runs, etc.) but who says maps can't consist of much more? Now, thanks to the Town's GIS Portal, countless informational layers are accessible to you.

Using the latest technology, the Town has digitized property records and tied them to their corresponding parcels. This allows you to view records and information for individual properties with just a few clicks. The Town also hopes to deploy many other useful maps for your use, such as; interactive public parking information, affordable housing units, and Village Shuttle bus stop locations.

Stay tuned for tutorials on how to get the most from the portal. In the meantime, you can view the GIS Portal and take a look for yourself at www.tosv.com/maps.

2017 Dumpster Fee Increase

Residential solid waste rates to increase 5%

Due to an additional increase in Pitkin County Landfill rates, the Town of Snowmass Village is initiating an approximate 5% fee increase to residential dumpster rates. The new 2017 residential dumpster fee is $509.00. This is a $25 increase from last year’s $484.00 annual rate, or approximately an additional $2.07 per month.

The new rate will be reflected in the 2017 spring bill sent out to residential customers.

2016 Sales Tax Rebates

Applications due by 5:00pm on Friday, March 17th.

A $50 rebate is available to all qualified full-time residents that physically resided within Town limits during all of 2016. It is intended to offset some of the sales tax collected from residents from purchases made throughout the year.

Creole for the Soul

Mardis Gras 2017 - Tuesday, February 28th

A 35-year tradition in Snowmass, Mardi Gras kicks off with the early morning Mother Of All Ascensions uphill race, followed by an afternoon of revelry with a traditional bead toss at 3:00pm and a finale of fireworks at 7:30pm.
