Hello, Part Time residents:
On behalf of the Part Time Residents Advisory Board (“PTRAB”), we would like to share with you some updates about a proposal to renovate and expand the Snowmass Town Center (“the Center”), and a proposal for occupancy and use of Building Six of the Base Village, the community use building. These are two very interesting pending proposals currently before the Town of Snowmass Village (“TOSV”) Town Council. In order to keep you informed, and for your review, the following are hyperlinks to recent articles in the Snowmass Sun reviewing details of the proposals:
"Town Council Mulls Plan for Snowmass Center Redevelopment"
"Snowmass Chapel, Aspen Science Center, Aspen Journalism Enter Base Village Building 6 Mix"
As you will see, these are major proposed changes for TOSV. While opinions about the proposals cover the gambit from “very excited” to “concerned,” we think it’s important that you as part time residents are informed and are able to provide input to Town Council, if desired, on the proposals. This is especially important since Mayor Butler has indicated that she would like more public input. Accordingly, please feel free to provide your input on either or both of the pending proposals as follows:
Snowmass Center Renovations proposal: Email comments to the TOSV City Planner, Brian McNellis at Bmcnellis@tosv.com;
Building Six proposal: Email comments to Travis Elliott, Assistant to the Town Manager, at firstname.lastname@example.org
Given that Town Council is actively evaluating these proposals, Mayor Butler has requested comments in time for the upcoming Council Meetings in early April. Consequently, early part time resident comments would be much appreciated, although not required.
We’ll endeavor to keep you updated as these and other TOSV issues arise which may be of interest to part time residents. Please also watch for the announcement of the PTRAB Summer public meeting for more TOSV updates, and presentations. In the meantime, we wish you all a good spring.
