Town Clean Up 2018

Thank You Clean Up Day Volunteers

Over 120 Volunteers Participated in 38th Clean Up

Thank you to the over 120 community members who showed up to clean our roadways, parking lots, trails and more on May 18th. It was another successful display of the community's volunteer spirit to keep the Town clean, and we're already looking forward to next year.  Thank you to the sponsors and donors that make this event possible each year:

  • Alpine Bank
  • Aspen Skiing Company
  • Berkshire Hathaway
  • Big Hoss Grill
  • Il Poggio
  • Little Mammoth Steakhouse
  • Luu Brothers Cleaner Express
  • Stone Bridge Inn & Artisan Restaurant
  • Snowmass Tourism
  • Snowmass Village Rotary

A special thank you to the Snowmass Village Rotary who provided, cooked, and served lunch for everyone after the work was completed.

Wildfire Mitigation

Are you Prepared?

Teaming up to Reduce Wildfire Risks

The Snowmass Wildcat Fire Protection District, Town of Snowmass Village, and Snowmass Homeowner's Association are once again teaming up to reduce the community's risk to wildfire threats. The Fire District recently completed a fire fuels reduction project above Sinclair Road (pictured below), and they will begin another project along Tom Blake trail in the coming weeks.

Ready. Set. Go.

Mitigating wildfire risks is a community-wide effort. You should have emergency plans in place and adequate defensible space around your home - before disaster strikes. Learn more about how to be prepared for a wildfire at www.PitkinWildfire.com by following the link below.

Slow for the Cone Zone

Construction in Full Swing

Slow for the Cone Zone

Several construction projects are underway in Snowmass Village, which means better roads are ahead. Please slow down and drive carefully in construction zones.

Owl Creek Road

Owl Creek Road has been down to one lane for utility work on the new fire station, but it is now open to two lanes. A lot of work is still taking place on or near the roadway, however, so please drive carefully and expect periodic lane closures in June and July.

Wood Road
Wood Road construction is now underway, and drivers can expect alternating one lane closures and minor delays during construction hours Monday - Friday, and some Saturdays. The road will be opened with two lanes after hours, during major events, and on weekends.
Noxious Weeds

Noxious Weed Season

Help Prevent the Spread of Invasive Weeds

The Town works hard with landowners and Pitkin County to prevent noxious weeds from spreading, but we can't do it alone. Everyone should take part in healthy land management, and the Town believes in assisting landowners to achieve this. The most effective way for you to help is to treat your own property, and there are numerous resources to help you get started.
