Comprehensive Plan Finalized

New Plan Outlines Vision of Snowmass Village

The Town Council unanimously adopted the 2018 Comprehensive Plan on December 17, 2018, and the Plan Snowmass team is celebrating this landmark achievement that is two years in the making. The process included more than 50 public meetings to provide input, review, and edit the plan - and it has paid off.

Congratulations to the Town Council and Planning Commission, and THANK YOU to the numerous community members that made this document a reflection of the community's vision. Below is an excerpt of the executive summary, and you can download the entire document online.

Comprehensive Plan Executive Summary:

"The approach to conservation and development presented in the Plan Framework portion of the 2018 Comprehensive Plan re-affirms the community’s desire that major development and redevelopment be limited to protect the natural environment and community character.  The Plan Framework shows that development may be allowed as long as the goals and values outlined in the combination of the Aspiration Statement, Guiding Principles, and Just Big Enough analysis are met.  By focusing on sustainability and conservation, the 2018 Comprehensive Plan fundamentally limits any noteworthy development or redevelopment in Snowmass Village to three areas: Town Park, the Snowmass Center and the Snowmass Mall."

Neighbors Invited to Community Meeting Jan. 8

The proposed next phase of the Rodeo Place neighborhood, named Coffey Place in honor of the late Joe Coffey, is making substantial progress. The Town is now inviting neighbors and the community to come hear the latest details. Beginning at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, January 8th, Town Hall Council Chambers will be open to all interested parties to view the latest plans and drawings for the neighborhood.
