2019 Community Survey Shows High Satisfaction with Town Services

Nearly 700 members of the community responded to the biennial community survey, and the results were presented to the Town Council earlier this month. Overall, respondents to the survey rated their satisfaction with Town services as extremely high, and the Town's ratings surpassed the national, regional, and local benchmarks in nearly every category asked in the survey.

  • 81% of respondents indicated they were satisfied with the overall quality of services provided by the Town; 33% higher than the national average.
  • 96% of respondents indicated they were satisfied with the feeling of safety in Town; 30% higher than the national average.
  • 90% of respondents indicated they were satisfied with Town snow removal; 30% higher than the national average.
  • 92% of respondents indicated they were satisfied with the timeliness and punctuality of the Village Shuttle.
  • 87% of respondents indicated they were satisfied with the maintenance of parks facilities and fields; 25% higher than the national average
The Town is reviewing the results and feedback as staff prepares the 2020 Town budget. Results from individual questions will also be used in preparation for capital projects and intersection improvements.

Parks Dept. Debuts New Online Tools

Parks, Recreation, and Trails Revamp Online Presence with New Website and Registration Software

The Town of Snowmass Village Parks, Recreation, and Trails department has launched a new website (snowmassrecreation.com) and new online management software. Both went live earlier this month on September 16. In addition to providing a fresh look, the new online features will give citizens access to current and upcoming recreation activities, classes, sports, leagues and facilities. It also boasts convenient online registration and payment.

Parks and Recreation Assistant Director Sarah McMahon has led the project, and she is extremely excited for the online enhancements. “The new website is much more intuitive, and users will have the ability to view facility and park schedules,” McMahon said. “This will make participating in all of the recreation opportunities we have to offer much easier.”

McMahon went on to explain that the Town's goal was to make their services more accessible, intuitive and easy to navigate. Everything is also mobile-friendly, so citizens can register for events from a smartphone or tablet.
