Crosswalk and Beacon at Faraway

Safety First

New Pedestrian Crosswalks and Beacons Completed

The Town of Snowmass Village has recently completed installing a series of pedestrian safety improvements at major intersections along Brush Creek Road, including at Sinclair, Owl Creek, and Faraway Roads.

In addition to designated crosswalks, pedestrian activated rapid flashing beacons were installed to alert drivers when a pedestrian is present. These simple additions are expected to increase the safety of these intersections for pedestrians crossing Brush Creek Road. Pedestrians should activate the beacons before attempting to cross, and drivers should yield to pedestrians in crosswalks.

Although many of these same intersections are scheduled for additional improvements, the Town Council felt it was important to implement these new safety features as soon as possible. They are now complete, and just in time for the busy winter season.
