On August 19, Aspen/Snowmass hosted the overall stage 1 start for the USA Pro Challenge cycling race. The benefits of event including increased hotel room bookings, international exposure and media coverage, and attracting the race fans demographic made the race attractive to the Town, but there were also impacts on the community like limited parking, and a significant road closure. Did you think the event was worth it? We want to hear from you.

Startup Weekend - Aspen is for Western Colorado. Oct 11, 12, 13. This is an awesome venue to bring your ideas and skills to.
Startup Weekend recruits a highly motivated group of developers, business managers, startup enthusiasts, marketing gurus, graphic artists and more to a 54 hour event that builds communities, companies and projects.
Founded in 2007 by Andrew Hyde, the weekend is a concept of a conference focusing on learning by creating. It is known for its quick decisions, out of the box thinking, unique facilitation technique and letting the founders show what they can do.
The participants that attend a Startup Weekend decide what they want to tackle over the weekend and come out at the end with several developed companies or projects.
Attendees are responsible for bringing the same desire and passion to the project and walk out of the room with the task at hand, in a short 54 hours.

Since at least 2005, there have been an extraordinary amount of complaints from eye witnesses of both employees & paying guests of the Krabloonik Dog Sledding business about the abuse & poor living conditions of the dogs who live & work there. The usual run of events start with a newspaper article, then letters to the editor, then "promises" from the owner & manager of Krabloonik to improve. Then all's quiet until the next time a person or several people can't stomach what they're observing there. Snowmass Town Council, police, & other authorities are alerted to the abuse, & then it seems there is a wink & a turn of the head to ignore & let continue this blight in our midst. When is Snowmass going to finally put a stop to the unhealthy, unethical, inhumane ways of Krabloonik? Voices For Krabloonik Dogs & the Aspen Animal Shelter have tried to offer ideas & actual physical help for years, but still the dirty, secret, abuse continues.

Please Town Council and the mayor, • I’m urging you to break the town’s lease with Krabloonik Dogsledding.
• There have reportedly been violations of the lease, including lapses in Krabloonik’s spay/neuter and off-tether programs for the dogs, and the recent Pet Animal Care Facilities Act investigation evidently found noncompliance with state regulations.
• Complaints of neglect and abuse at the facility date back decades. In February, an employee was reportedly filmed punching and kicking a dog and slamming the animal to the ground. A former employee reported previously seeing dogs die from exposure to the cold and reported that employees were instructed to leave newborns outside with no heat source. Many of the dogs have apparently been kept on chains for years at a time. Please stop allowing Snowmass Village to be associated with such alleged cruelty.

I'm an owner in Two Creeks and as a part time resident I'd like to see improved cell signals for all carriers. What are the roadblocks?
Thanks- Brandon

All other dumpsters have been replaced in the last few years. This one is literally falling apart and is a blight on the neighborhood. It's time to replace it!
