    JUNE 8 – AUGUST 17, 2016 Celebrating its 43rd season, the Snowmass Rodeo is the longest running rodeo in Colorado. This authentic western event takes place every Wednesday evening in the summers through mid-August. Visitors can check out exciting competitions like saddle bronc and bull riding, team roping, and barrel racing. Children can participate in the Calf Scramble and Mutton Busting. Come early and enjoy a BBQ dinner and cocktails from the full bar or stroll around vendor booths and watch the live entertainment such as roping demonstrations. After the rodeo, a campfire sing-a-long and marshmallow roast complete a perfect Colorado evening. It’s Western Wednesday in Snowmass, rain or shine! Gates open at 5:00 p.m. for Family Activities, BBQ, Cash Bar & Shopping. The Rodeo takes place from 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. FREE Parking is available. FREE for children under 11. This epic event will showcase top wineries, breweries, craft distilleries and over 45 notable chefs from Colorado working alongside top chefs from around the country cooking 3,000 pounds of heritage breed animals in celebration of pasture diversity and family farming. The list of heritage and heirloom foods to be featured include dry-aged beef, spit-roasted large format fish, whole pigs, lambs, goat, lobster, squab, rabbit, duck, chicken, artisan cheese, oysters and heirloom vegetables. The event spotlights 10 chefs competing in a head-to-tail, winner-takes-all culinary showdown.The event includes more than 1200 pounds of heritage breed pork showcased by the best 30 dishes that won them their regional competition and passage to Snowmass/Aspen. Guests will also enjoy premium brews, reserve wines, artisan spirits, a butcher demo, tartare bar, oysters, cheese tastings, jars of bacon, Swine and Sweets dessert course, and an award ceremony to announce the winner.
