Ragnar Trail Race

The Ragnar Trail is a gritty trifecta of the most scenic trail loops Mother Nature can serve up. Each trail loop begins and ends at Ragnar Village. Teams will run relay style, rotating through all three loops. Between the views of snowcapped peaks, fields of wildflowers, and amazingly groomed single-track you wall fall in trail runner love with Snowmass.

Snowmass Rodeo

JUNE 8 – AUGUST 17, 2016 Celebrating its 43rd season, the Snowmass Rodeo is the longest running rodeo in Colorado. This authentic western event takes place every Wednesday evening in the summers through mid-August. Visitors can check out exciting competitions like saddle bronc and bull riding, team roping, and barrel racing. Children can participate in the Calf Scramble and Mutton Busting. Come early and enjoy a BBQ dinner and cocktails from the full bar or stroll around vendor booths and watch the live entertainment such as roping demonstrations. After the rodeo, a campfire sing-a-long and marshmallow roast complete a perfect Colorado evening. It’s Western Wednesday in Snowmass, rain or shine! Gates open at 5:00 p.m. for Family Activities, BBQ, Cash Bar & Shopping. The Rodeo takes place from 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. FREE Parking is available. FREE for children under 11. 5K Fun Run

Race Check-In: 8:00am-9:00am Race Start: 9:30am Brunch Start at Venga Venga: 10:00am Cost: $35 pre-registration; $45 day-of registration Registration includes timed clock 5k run, finishers medal, brunch and 2 drinks at Venga Venga. Registration opening soon.

Snowmass Craft-Beer Rendezvous

The ultimate hoppy kick-off to the summer season. Sip and savor at the 3 hour grand tasting event from 2:00pm-5:00pm featuring more than 50 craft breweries showcasing multiple styles each. Up your homebrew game at workshops hosted by craft brewers from around the state. Enjoy a fun 5k run starting at 9:30am to get that metabolism going before the grand tasting, and finally, Watch the sunset on Fanny Hill as a free concert featuring the Royal Southern Brotherhood with Cyril Neville closes out the day’s festivities from 6:30-9:00pm.

Heritage Fire

Heritage Fire by Cochon 555 has been Napa Valley’s premier hyper-local, whole animal live-fire outdoor food and wine event for over six years. For the first time ever, Heritage Fire is expanding outside of wine country and coming to The Base Village Lawn & Fanny Hill in Snowmass! This epic event will showcase top wineries, breweries, craft distilleries and over 45 notable chefs from Colorado working alongside top chefs from around the country cooking 3,000 pounds of heritage breed animals in celebration of pasture diversity and family farming. The list of heritage and heirloom foods to be featured include dry-aged beef, spit-roasted large format fish, whole pigs, lambs, goat, lobster, squab, rabbit, duck, chicken, artisan cheese, oysters and heirloom vegetables. Heritage Fire is a collection of culinary teams cooking together for a crowd of meat and wine loving gourmands to spotlight traditional outdoor cooking techniques paired with amazing wines, ice-cold brews, and crisp ciders.

Grand Cochon

10 Chefs, 10 Pigs, 1 Crown Each year, an epic 10-city culinary tour starts in NYC and culminates in Snowmass/Aspen called Grand Cochon. The event spotlights 10 chefs competing in a head-to-tail, winner-takes-all culinary showdown.The event includes more than 1200 pounds of heritage breed pork showcased by the best 30 dishes that won them their regional competition and passage to Snowmass/Aspen. Guests will also enjoy premium brews, reserve wines, artisan spirits, a butcher demo, tartare bar, oysters, cheese tastings, jars of bacon, Swine and Sweets dessert course, and an award ceremony to announce the winner. The top toque will be chosen by the audience and a panel of 20 expert judges.The tour is aligned with the modern-day good food movement — notable chefs, barrier-breaking women, artist-like butchers, spirited bartenders, top winemakers, brewers, distillers and brazen pastry talent working together to prepare an epic feast celebrating responsible family farming.

Join us for this two-day sponsored event in Base Village and ride Snowmass trails and roads on the latest equipment provided by our featured exhibitors. Demo mountain bikes, road bikes, downhill bikes, fat bikes and more or try out the latest in components and equipment! NO registration fee – this is a free demo! Donations to the Roaring Fork Mountain Bike Association are strongly encouraged. We recommend that you bring your own pedals and corresponding shoes. All demos are first-come first-served. Snowmass Loop Mountain Bike Fondo

The Prestige Imports Snowmass Loop Mountain Bike Fondo is new to the Colorado mountain bike calendar and will showcase Snowmass’ new “Snowmass Loop” in a single or double track lap around Snowmass. The Snowmass Loop is a more than 20 mile course with over 3k of vertical, non-stop single track with scenic vistas and aspen groves. Intermediate and advanced riders will love this fast and diverse course.

The Environmental Advisory Board is a collaborative group committed to updating and accomplishing the goals of the town’s Environmental Sustainability Plan. The board provides technical expertise and a broad community perspective in order to develop recommendations concerning projects, programs, policies, and operational practices that benefit the natural environment, the local economy, and community. They encourage community participation in these pursuits and manage relationships with other area environmental groups.
