Responsibilities

A division of the Community Development Department, Building ensures that all building activities in Snowmass Village are done in a safe, practical, and energy-efficient manner.

They do this by issuing building permits and providing plan checks and inspection services for:

  • Structural
  • Electrical
  • Mechanical
  • Plumbing
  • Heating and cooling
  • Insulation
  • Drywall
  • Final issuance of certificates of occupancy

Building Permits:

Pre-submittal meetings are strongly recommended for anyone planning a major building project. These meetings provide an opportunity to discuss the details of your proposed project with the Community Development permit coordinator, building plans reviewers, and other review staff before formally submitting your application.

During the meeting, you can outline your project scope, ask questions about applicable codes and requirements, and identify any potential issues early in the process. This collaborative approach helps streamline the review process, reduce delays, and ensure your application is complete and accurate when submitted.

Construction Times and Noise

Town Code limits construction activities on Sundays and all national holidays. Permissible construction hours in the Town of Snowmass Village include the following:

  • Monday - Saturday (excluding holidays)
  • 7:00am - 6:00pm
