How Do I Become a Candidate?

The next general and municipal election will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.  This election will be a mail ballot election coordinated with Pitkin County. 

Run for Town Council or Mayor

Thank you for your interest in Town Council and serving Snowmass Village. To get started, please review the resources and requirements below. Please note that Candidate Nomination Packets are available at Town Hall on August 6, 2024 and are to be turned in on or before August 26, 2024.

Candidate Nomination Packets must be picked up at Town Hall from the Town Clerk. 

2024 Town Council Vacancies

• Mayor (two-year term)
• Two (2) Council Member seats (four-year terms)

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old
• Be a citizen of the United States
• Be a registered voter in the Town of Snowmass Village
• Be a resident of Town of Snowmass for at least 12 consecutive months preceding the date of the election

Nominating Petitions

Nomination petitions for interested candidates are now available at Town Hall and are due back on or before August 26, 2024.
