Happy Halloween!

Have a safe and fun evening.

Monday, October 31st

Happy Halloween from the Town of Snowmass Village. We hope you have a safe and fun Halloween weekend full of spooky festivities. However, you decide to celebrate Halloween this year, make sure you do so safely.

Halloween Safety Tips:

  • Please drive slowly and cautiously, and be on the lookout for trick-or-treaters.
  • Wear costumes that are bright and can be seen at night, or affix items that are highly visible. Glow sticks are a great option.
  • Be extra careful when crossing the streets and remember that some costumes with masks can obscure vision.
  • Put your phone down. Be mindful, present, and avoid distractions.
  • Enter and exit driveways and intersections carefully.
  • Watch for children in dark clothing at twilight and later in the evening.
  • Never drink and drive. Let the Village Shuttle be your designated driver if you need a ride. On Demand service is available 6:45 a.m. - 12 midnight on Halloween.

Is your car ready for winter driving?

From September 1st through May 31st, all vehicles operating on any roadway must be equipped with adequate snow tires or tire chains. Don't only rely on the 4-Wheel drive; having adequate tires are essential. Remember, you could be issued a citation if you get caught with improper tires. Do you know where that snowbrush/ice scraper is? After a storm, please clear the entire windshield and brush off the headlights and taillights!

Questions on adequate snow tires? Contact the Snowmass Village Police Dept. at 970-923-5330.

2023 Budget Under Review

2023 Budget before Town Council on Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2022

The Town Council has been reviewing the draft 2023 Budget throughout the month of October. On Wednesday, November 9, the Town Council is expected to vote on the approval of the budget for 2023.

For many years, the Town Council has developed and adopted a fiscally conservative approach to the annual budget process putting many financial safety nets in place. These safety nets have proved helpful during uncertain times, such as the pandemic throughout 2020 and into 2021.

The 2023 proposed budget anticipates keeping the aforementioned financial
precautions and safeguards in place. It also aims to accomplish the Town Council's strategic goals.

Highlights from the 2023 Budget include the following projects:

  • The capital costs for the construction of a mall transit plaza
  • Town Park improvements
  • Brush Creek Road & Owl Creek Road intersection improvements
  • Mountain View I renovations
  • New positions to maintain adequate staffing for service delivery
  • Continued investment in infrastructure
The entire draft 2023 Budget is available online at tosv.com.

The Town Council welcomes any and all feedback. You can participate in the meeting, or email the entire Town Council at council@tosv.com.
