Maintaining Official Records

The Police Department maintains official records of all incidents reported to the Snowmass Village Police.

Obtaining a Record

Records requests can be made by submitting a Records Request Form, or in person at the Police Department offices located on the first floor of Snowmass Village Town Hall at 130 Kearns Road, Snowmass Village, CO, 81615. This form should be used to request reports for incidents within The Snowmass Village town limits and involving the Snowmass Village Police Officers. 

Completed forms may be sent to police@tosv.com.

Reports will be reviewed by appropriate personnel to determine if reports can be released. In some instances, the released report may have information redacted. This completed request form may be faxed, mailed, hand-delivered, or scanned/emailed to the Snowmass Village Police Records Office. No reports will be released without a signed and completed request form and payment of the appropriate fees. Please provide information as possible. 

For official Police Records of incidents, please be prepared to provide the following information with your request:

  • The case number or the names of the parties involved
  • The date and time at which the incident took place
  • The location of the incident

Accident Report

$7.00, plus $0.25/page
Available online at Crashdocs.org for $5.00

Criminal Report/Civil Report 

 $7.00, plus $0.25/page
Archive Search (For records not within the calendar year)
$25.00/hour, plus $0.25/page

Background Search (Search consists of arrests, citations, or reports made with SMVPD only)

The requestor must have the full name and DOB.   

 $10.00

Digital Media (Videos, Pictures, BWC research, retrieval, creation fee)

$30.00/hour (Minimum of 1 hour)
